I FUCKING LOVE THIS COLLECTION

After watching show after runway and resort collections I've come to realise that fashion has become a little too serious. OK I get it! Its cool to keep the serious structured , nose in the air side of fashion. But it is so refreshing to see something light hearted, fun, and with a dash of sass and sex appeall. Before I read any reviews or interviews of the designer inspiration to a collection I try to detect it on my own. And for some reason I sensed a french women's was aura over this line. I don't know if its the French women in me that can spot such character...or maybe its the YSL, Miuccia Prada's DNA within this collection.
Come to find out Miuccia was inspired by the 1940's-1970's era of scandalous French women of that time. Which you can definitely see when looking over this entire collection of 14 naughty( in a good way) looks. I also love the photography of this resort line. The black and white background keeps your focus on each piece.Yet Not oh so serious candy colors along with tans and navy garments splashed with apple and sweet heart prints.

I would definitely give Miu Miu 2011 resort a top spot on one of the most memorable displays to date. Which is your favorite resort or runway show for 2011?

All though many other shows have disappointed me this season I will say that Marc Jacobs never fails when it comes to this French line. I have totally been inspired these past couple of weeks. And I have a MAJOR project in the works since I haven't made anything recently.

HEY BLOG BABIES!

I know its been a long time coming but I am still alive and doing well.

I haven't taken any new pics in a looooong time so I decided to share the few pics I received from my sister. I miss you guys dearly I will try my best to keep you updated with my where abouts. These pics were taken on memorial day at a family bbq. I will try to get some more picks of this day. It was super fun and relaxing since I don't go out much.

I had this dress for over 4yrs. I like the fit much better then I did when I was 20 pounds heavier.


Oh yeh how can I forget I changed my hair lol! what do guys think? And yes thats a roller in my hair lol! Gotta keep it real blog bunnies!

OHHHH MY....

IT HAS BEEN SOOO LONG!! I MISS EACH AND EVERY LOYAL BLOG BUNNY DEARLY! EVEN THOSE THAT CHECK ON ME WHEN THEY CAN. How has everyone been doing? As some of you know I have been working nights and its taken a whole different turn in my life. I sleep during the day and work from 9pm -4am. My blog has always been in the back of my mind ALOT and I was missing checking in on the blogs I used to check regularly. But my sleep is very important to me and if I don't get a sufficient amount I can never be as alert nor energized at night. Which is not an option in a hyper hiphop night club.
So since I started this new job I haven't taken any new pics till today. I wanted to show you guys the few lil' new things I have purchased during these past weeks. I wouldn't call this a haul but call it what you want..I say "Petite Purchases". lol. First off I went to the city on one of my days off and purchased this grey faux leather jacket. Its super fitted and has a cool structure in the shoulder area. See in New York it's very easy to walk into a person with a very similar black leather jacket that you are wearing or own. Even guys rock women leather jackets for a certain fit ( yeh even skinny jeans smh). So this time I decided to go for a color I will less likely see others rock every other day. And as some of you can see from my past post I love me some grey!

I also purchased these leggings in the city in the random store me and my sister stay visiting when we are in the area. I know this particular trend might be fading for some but that's exactly why you see me rocking them now. Now that there isn't a sea of chicks walking down the street with leggings on I feel more proud to wear these babies.They are light weight yet holds me in all the right places. And I looove the mesh cut outs on the side. I love my legs so showing a lil peep can't hurt right?

So yes I bought these heels without any regret and I've been back to that store and these were truly the last pair can ya believe this? Talk about meant to be...WOOOHOOOO!!!!

This is my go to bag when I go to work. I don't have the cash for a speedy 30 which I want dearly. But this holds 3 pairs of shoes , 3 change of outfits and whatever else I may need for the night. And I love the sleekness and shine of this bag. Flows naturally with my new leggings and Doll House Shoes.

And I've also been experimenting with new makeup looks. Since people tend to be all in my face at night time lol.

In this look I used a metallic royal blue liner for the inner corners of my eyes and continued with a solid black liner. I used blue, yellow, pink, and burgundy shadows for the outer corners. I also used those colors on the lower lash line.

Then I put my foundation and bronzer and charcoal black mascara on my lashes. No fake lashes with this look. I rarely wear fake lashes. But you can try this look how ever you like. on the lips I have on KISS lipstick the color is 'tea rose'. What I like about this color is that I can put very lil or alot and it doesn't look too powerful on my face.
In these photos I put alot so the color can be more visible.

Oh and here is a wedge I just purchased before the Doll House heels. Can't wait to show ya the looks I put together with these lovelies! Super comfy as well!

I also got the denim vest at the local store in my area.

And lastly These are sum of my go to products I've been addicted to lately.

Far left is my SKA cara facial products I wash and moisturize my face with after taking off my makeup. It keeps my skin soo soft, its awesome. Next is the wet & wild light pink shimmer. Its dope as a shadow and even a light blush. Next is American Idol cream blush sticks. It has 2 different colored blushes on each end and the color looks as though I have sun kissed cheeks, so cute. Next is my nude color American Idol lip and brow pencil. I use this around my lips to give my lipstick a cleaner line. Easy to blend with finger or concealer brush. Then for my lips its the tea rose color lipstick from KISS. Looks gorgeous matte or glossed. And for my go to gloss it would be Jordana Lip jellies. Although I hate fruity smelling( or tasting) lip gloss I love the light lip stain it gives my lips.

NIGHT TIME FLOW

Hey BloG HeaDS!

I have got some good and semi bad news....

Since you care I'll give you the good news first.

I have been looking for a part time job for quiet some time and I FINALLY found 1! Since I don't really get too detailed about my personal life( on my blog) just know that I will be working nights once again.

The bad news is I won't be able to post as I used to. I'm working in a hiphop night club from 9pm-4am!

Which means I will be sleeping during the day as I did last year :-(

I worked as a hostess and coat checker in a manhattan club 2008-2009 which was the same crazy hours. It's been a long while since I stayed up those hours but I think I can manage. Although working the club life is not a career I want to pursue, I do want to make extra cash so I can further invest into ShopmyMadonya Webshop and all my clothing projects. Selling on ebay and blogspot isn't the fastest money maker at times, but since I found this side job hopefully things can come full circle for me. I will keep you posted with my journey in this new place I will be working in as well as the few projects I will be working on. Ask anyone that works a night shift nows how aggitated one can feel in the AM. Especially working long hours on your feet....

But I'm gonna drink my gangsta juice and hange tuff for these next few months.

NEW MADONYA DESIGNS PART?

HELLO MY SCRUMPTIOUS BLOG BUNNIES!

Hope everyone is having a good week so far. As I told you I had a few project to finish up during the time I didn't have my lappy AKA laptop. And what you are about to see below is my two creations I tackled during those 2 weeks plus. I have been soo inspired by certain fabrics I knew i was eventually go back to one of my favorite prints.

Although some people tend to stray away from strips I always been attracted it in some ways.
So when I got my hand on the two different colored stripped fabrics I went a lil' nutts. So follow me ( not in a lame twitter fashion lol) and let me explain what these designs actually are...

Alrighty! This here is a two piece set. A nautical inspired fitted top with flared waist. And below I have on a high waisted tight mini skirt. The fabric is stretch so no zipper closer here. I had no idea where I was going with this design but once I made the top I new exactly what I wanted the Entire design to be.
If you sense an old school vibe here your right on target, that is what I wanted to accomplish. You see as I learn more about sewing I see so many different techniques I didn't even know I could do. But one thing for sure if a trait such as sewing can be passed down from one generation to another then you bet your ass that trait has definitely been passed on to me. And BELIEVE ME I am soo proud and humbled by every thing I learn everyday...

Oh I plan to put this outfit on my skinny bitch ( my mannequin lol) so you guys can see closer details of this entire outfit....

YAAAYYYYY SOOO HERE IS DESIGN CREATION #2!

My lovely Hot Pink Nautical stripped skirted mini Dress.

What I love about this dress is if it wasn't for the shortness of it and the peep of my outrageous cleavage some would think this dress is for a lil girl LOL! But With my crazy designs brewing in my brain I envisioned a SUPER GIRLIE dress that has a dash of sexy chic appeal. And looking at this dress from a different perspective you would think this dress was pretty easy to make but trust me .....HELL NAH IT WAS NOT! I really had a struggle with the making of this dress. And I though I was getting ahead of myself with this design I had no training in making. But honestly after waiting for my lappy for soo damn long I had no choice but to occupy my time on focusing on this design. I don't watch much tv for a person who works from home. And fashion is my my go to when I'm bored, sad, uninspired, happy, cranky, horny, excited.... yeah I know I'm crazy LOL!

But If my future self would have approached me a few months back and told me that I was going to pick sewing and creating designs I would've said....GETTHEFUCKOUTTAHERE!!!!!!!!!

God works in many ways....

So here it is my latest two designs. I Hope you guys like....I mean I had some of you waiting for a minute. And I kept getting hit in the head with these curve balls. But I managed to take these pics for ya so I can finally display what I been keeping under wraps.

One thing I'm still not used to is being called a 'designer'. Although I am designing and creating a few garments I feel I have to get a few more years of this under my belt. My mother has been a seamstress for over 30 years of her life. She has perfected her craft so well that she can pretty much sew with her eyes closed. I just never knew all my younger days going to her job and watching her sew piece after piece would actually stick with me. How can this even be when I never actually did this before?

I still question it sometimes but I am humbled by every lovely gracious compliment , half ass thumbs up, and every hater comment that is said under ones breathe.

Like my girl Kelis says

'You don't have to like me, but you will respect me'

So with that said I'm signing out, It has been a CRAZY long day...
